We’re Pumped for the Global Leadership Summit! #GLS16
Amanda and I are attending a conference tomorrow and Friday, the Willow Creek Global Leadership Summit. It’s a yearly two-day event telecast LIVE in HD from Willow’s campus near Chicago every August to hundreds of locations in North America. This will be my third time attending and Amanda’s second. We’re excited to bring back the things we’ve learned and become better leaders in our community and make the experience of working with us even better!
I’m especially excited to hear Horst Schulz (CEO, Capella Hotel Group; Founding President, The Ritz-Carlton Group). Last year he laid out his hotel’s customer relations and service plan. Ultimately, it was a focus on making the experience of the customer the best it can be and connecting with them on a personal level. I loved it. On top of the John Maxwell and Patrick Lencioni will be speaking; always a treat.
We don’t go to photo conferences usually, because so many of the speakers are speaking to beginners or selling snake oil. This conference is different in it’s focus on the roots of leadership and relating to our clients and employees. It feels more like TED talks than the hype show of most conferences. We love that.
If any of you are also attending, I made a note-taking printable for Amanda and I’m happy to share it with you!

I was so excited to meet up with these two for their first anniversary celebration. St Simons Island was their destination of choice and you can see why. The Lighthouse and Pier area were the setting for these portraits. It was so great to photograph Jeremy and Deonna. Happy first anniversary!
Evelyn + Zach’s Wesley Methodist Wedding and King & Prince Hotel Reception on St Simons Island
Evelyn, Zach, and their families were so amazing to work with. It was a party from start to finish. There were even some show tunes thrown in there for good measure.
What a fun group of people to spend a Saturday with!

Katie and Matt’s Wedding Portraits on the Las Vegas Strip
The Monday after Katie and Matt’s Las Vegas wedding, we met them at the Las Vegas sign to get some very touristy photos that we almost begged them to let us take. After the quick stop there, we headed to the Bellagio Hotel on the Las Vegas Strip to take some portraits around the gardens. It was so wonderful to get to photograph them in a city environment we don’t get in our quaint, coastal Georgia town.
Congratulations Katie and Matt!
We Flew to Las Vegas to Photograph Katie and Matt’s Wedding And It Was Awesome!
What an incredible weekend with Katie, Matt, and their wonderful families! Amanda and I flew out of Jacksonville early on Wednesday morning to make sure we didn’t have any travel delays and to give us time once we were there to check out locations and map our routes. After traveling to photograph destination weddings for a few years, we’ve come up with a pretty good system to avoid any mishaps and we’ve had nothing but smooth and easy travel.
We started the day with Katie and the Aliante Casino and Hotel in the north part of Las Vegas, about 45 minutes from the Strip. Katie, her family, and her wedding party were all so fun and gave us so many opportunities for great photos. The wedding was at a beautiful home belonging to a family friend which added so much to the family focused perspective of the wedding. Even though the weather for this Las Vegas wedding was pretty hot, we had a cool breeze and great people to be with.
We also had a couple’s portrait session down at the strip at the Bellagio on the Monday after. Those photos will be up tomorrow. Check back to see them!
